Anacleto BORGHI
(Italy, 1921-2008)
We have a few fragile sculptures and oil paintings from Anacleto Borghi. He painted charming landscapes from an early age, rubbing shoulders with Bohemian artists before embarking, at the end of his life, on the creation of sculptures using items he found in the hospital. These findings contributed to his creations in which he used, as the main materials, paper towels and painter's tape for embellishment. Birds, flowers under a bell, a deer, a cat... all come to life in his hands before being generously painted. Anacleto Borghi was active in the Adriano e Michele studio at the Fatebenefratelli psychiatric rehabilitation centre in San Colombano al Lombro (Italy).
