Caroline DAHYOT
(France, 1968-)
From her ‘Villa Verveine’ perched overlooking the English Channel, Caroline Dahyot has created an ideal, protective world for herself and others, where those she loves feel safe and secure. She has been drawing and sewing since 2006, and her works have now taken over her home in its entirety, covering the floor, walls and ceilings with frescoes and drawings.
Like a kindly witch, she makes dolls and drawings in the likeness of her loved ones: her children, her friends and even her lovers, she then adorns with cats’ heads, transforming them into imaginary creatures who will never disappoint. Her restorative art helps to spread a message of universal love. That is the very essence that strikes you when you meet her: the love that emanates from her, which she passes on to everyone who crosses her path.
