Curzio DI GIOVANNI
(Italy, 1957-)
Curzio Di Giovanni models his work on the stars featured in glossy magazines. He strives to reproduce every detail with the same importance, a shadow having the same value as an ear or a nose. The result is a fragmented flattening of these faces that takes on a grating allure, as though the author was criticizing the capitalist system of which these images are the vector. Curzio Di Giovanni attends the ‘Adriano e Michele’ studio at the Fatebenefratelli Centre in San Colombano, near Milan.
