Frédéric ETIENNE
(Belgium, 1965-)
Spring and autumn are the hunting grounds for Frédéric Étienne's creations. ‘Two seasons of light’, he says. They offer a playground for new forms, nourished by the salvaged materials he gathers between the deserted cobblestones of the flea market at Place du Jeu de Balle. Cartoon figures, plastic animals, paper umbrellas, a colourful anthology... form the autumn foliage or bursting spring buds of his sculptures. Each floor invites you to another in the gigantic scale of small items stuck to one another.
Discovered in the heart of the Marolles district, this tower was a natural addition to the Art et marges museum collection. The proximity of the artist also means that we can call on him to reattach any loose parts from time to time.
