Geneviève BLOMART
(Belgium, 1952-)
The lines that Geneviève Blomart applies to paper are like sentences retracing her story, variations on a single theme. They are veritable hymns to colour that embody pure abstraction and exude serenity. For Geneviève Blomart, who worked for 25 years as a secretary at the Ministry of Defence, her watercolours represent very concrete things: food, a mountain, a snake... Her work evokes for her much more than an accumulation of lines or colours applied to white paper.
