Jacqueline VIZCAÏNO
(Algeria, 1937-)
It was at the age of sixty that Jacqueline Vizcaïno discovered painting, which was to become a veritable revelation. She painted on wood, using gouache that she then covered with wax polish, drawing her inspiration from Oriental and Hindu influences. Over the years, her drawings have become more refined, filled with bright colours, revealing characters that are half-insect half-goblin, adorned with headdresses, Turkish slippers and wings, moving through a world of curves, flowers and multicoloured dots.
