For Philippe Condylis, drawing is an essential activity. His works, painted instinctively, focus on the female body. Starting out with complex compositions in which faces and bodies were interwoven… his work has become more simplified. This has resulted in more expressive drawings in which the female body becomes foliage or an angel. His drawings have acquired the presence of fetishes, of transitional body-objects.
